Evander’s Personal Fitbit Flex 2 Summary:

The Fitbit Flex 2 is a fantastic fitness tracker that’s worth every penny.

Sure, it has some quirks, like the lack of an LED display, which makes you feel like you’re cracking secret color codes.

And another little hiccup is the battery life, which lasts a mere 5 days. If you ask me, it could’ve stretched a bit longer

But hey, at just $200, you get a bunch of different data with pinpoint accuracy which helps you stay on track with your fitness and health goals.

And most importantly, you look stylish at the same time!

Flex 2’s Finest: Best Features Worth Mentioning

Let me walk you through the amazing features that make the Fitbit Flex 2 the go-to fitness tracker for many!

Design

Kicking off with the design. The Fitbit Flex 2 sports a chic, minimalist design that perfectly blends fashion and function. It’s so stylish, you’ll forget it’s tracking your every move!

Evander’s opinion

What I personally like about the design is that it is super minimalistic.

This makes it perfect to use as an ankle fitness tracker when I am wearing gloves, like during boxing.

Tracking

Besides the fact that the Flex 2 has a cool design, the tracking functions are definitely on point.

This nifty little gadget tracks more than just your daily shenanigans; it’s got a range of tracking features up its sleeve.

Let me break it down for you in two sections: The accuracy of the tracking and the types of tracking.

Accuracy of tracking

I have tested every function of the Fitbit Flex 2 and I can confidently say that it is a master at tracking my activities with pinpoint accuracy.

It’s got a fancy 3-axis accelerometer that measures my steps, distance, and active minutes.

And when it’s bedtime, the sleep-tracking capabilities have got me covered.

With SmartTrack, it even automatically logs different exercises like walking, running, and biking, so I don’t have to manually turn it on.

Evander’s opinion

Im going to be real with you: one downside of the Fitbit Flex 2 is that deciphering the colors can feel like learning a secret code.

Without a display, you might find yourself wondering, “Is that orange blink a low-battery cry for help or just connecting?”

And don’t get me started on distinguishing orange from red.

Sure, it’s all in the manual, but if you’re anything like me (world laziness champion), you might find this little color puzzle slightly irritating at first

Types of tracking

That said, with the Fitbit Flex 2, you can track a bunch of cool things:

  • Steps
  • Distance
  • Calories burned
  • Active minutes
  • Sleep quality and patterns
  • Automatic exercise recognition with SmartTrack

Battery life

The Fitbit Flex 2 has a decent battery life that keeps you moving without constant charging.

The lifespan of the battery life

Fitbit says you’ll get five days of battery life, but considering the Flex 2’s basic features, it should last longer.

Without a screen or heart-rate sensor, the battery life could be better.

And since the Flex 2 just shuts off when the battery is low, you’ll want to charge it ASAP to avoid any workout interruptions

Evander’s opinion

I hoped the Flex 2 would last a full week, like the Amazon Halo Band or other basic fitness bands without displays.

Charging capabilities

Charging is also annoying: The Flex 2 comes with yet another proprietary and totally different charger from every other Fitbit.

You have to remove the tracker, which is an extremely tiny little stick, and insert it into a small dock.

A full charge will take up to two hours.

Compatibility

The Fitbit Flex 2 plays nice with all sorts of devices, making it a versatile choice for basically everyone.

Compatibility with smartphones

Android or iOS, the Fitbit Flex 2 doesn’t discriminate!

It syncs with both types of smartphones, so you can keep track of your data and get call/text notifications.

Syncing with other devices

The Flex 2 isn’t just a one-trick pony.

It can sync with computers and tablets that have Bluetooth, making sure your fitness data is available wherever you are.

The Fitbit App

I have got to say that the Fitbit app is probably the real winner.

It’s user-friendly and plays nice with other apps like MyFitnessPal, so you can track your snack attacks too.

Chances are, your friends with fitness trackers are rocking Fitbits.

The app boasts a huge social circle, letting you challenge your buddies to step competitions.

It’s like a virtual race to the finish line, keeping you pumped to hit those daily step goals!

What Is Inside The Box?

Curious about what you’ll find when you open up your new Fitbit Flex 2? Let’s dive in and see what goodies are waiting for you!

  • Fitbit Flex 2 tracker (the star of the show)
  • A duo of differently sized bands (small and large, for wrists of all sizes)
  • Charging cable (gotta keep that battery juiced up)
  • Quick start guide (because who doesn’t love a good manual?)

Accessories

A big pro of the Fitbit tracker is that there are a lot of accessories available from both Fitbit and third-party sellers. Fitbit offers the following accessories:

  • A rainbow of interchangeable bands (to match your mood or outfit)
  • Pendant accessory (for a touch of elegance)
  • Designer collabs (like Tory Burch, for the fashion-forward)

Third-party sellers offer additional (ankle) bands, pendants, and even clip-on cases. If you are getting sick of the color, just buy a $20 band, and you get a totally different fitness tracker.

How cool is that?

Time to talk cash! The Fitbit Flex 2 can be yours for around $200. If you ask me, it is quite a bargain for a trusty fitness tracker.

Curious about other fitness trackers in the wild? Let’s explore some alternatives to the Fitbit Flex 2:

Amazon Halo Band

#1 Amazon Halo Band

The Amazon Halo Band, priced at $99.99, is an affordable option that I recommend if you want to focus on overall wellness.

With features like body fat measurement, sleep tracking, and a points-based system for physical activity, the Halo Band offers a holistic approach to health.

However, it doesn’t have a screen and requires a monthly subscription for advanced features.

Evander’s opinion

I rock the Amazon Halo band as an ankle fitness tracker because I’m a bit of a classic dude who loves wearing a regular watch.

The best part?

The Halo band snugly fits under my skinny jeans and still dishes out spot-on stats about my fitness journey.

Talk about having the best of both worlds!

#2 Misfit Ray

The Misfit Ray, coming in at around $49.99, is a stylish and minimalist fitness tracker.

Sporting a sleek design and a variety of fashionable bands, it’s perfect for the active person who wants to keep things low-key.

It tracks steps, distance, and sleep but lacks a screen or heart rate monitoring capabilities.

#3 Fitbit Inspire

If you are craving a little extra, the Fitbit Inspire ($69.95) delivers.

The updated version of the Flex 2 has more advanced features, like a touchscreen display and the ability to track your heart rate and sleep.

Flexing with the Flex 2: My Personal Experience

Purple infographic with an image of the Fitbit Flex 2. Text displays: My Personal Experience

After strapping on the Fitbit Flex 2 for a couple of months, I’ve got some good things to say and a few not-so-great ones too.

Its slim design made it easy to wear all day long without drawing too much attention, and it even snuck right under my watch without any fuss.

When it came to tracking my activity, the Flex 2 did a pretty solid job. It kept me on my toes, making sure I hit my daily step goals and stayed moving.

Its automatic workout-tracking was a nice touch, and the fact that it could track my swimming sessions thanks to its swim-proof build was a pleasant surprise.

Now, I did manage to guzzle down more water than before since it helped me track my water intake. But the rubber strap could get a bit sweaty at times.

And even though it’s the original Fitbit Flex’s successor, it didn’t have a heart rate monitor, which was a bummer. I guess you can’t have it all—an affordable price and minimalist design—huh?

My biggest gripe was the battery life.

Every five days or so, I found myself scrambling for the charger.

A full week of batteries would’ve been fantastic. But all in all, the Fitbit Flex 2 kept me focused on my fitness goals and nudged me to take better care of myself.

The Final Verdict: Is the Fitbit Flex 2 a Worthy Investment?

I’ve walked you through the ins and outs of the Fitbit Flex 2, tracking our way from its minimalist design to its impressive features.

It’s time to wrap up our fitness adventure and let you decide if this little gadget is the right companion for working out and your active lifestyle.

If you ask me, for just $200, it is definitely worth trying. Just keep in mind that it does have its limits, like the 5-day battery life.
